I am catching up on some YouTube videos after being busy starting a new job and have to say I love this video, a lot. Of course it's Casey Neistat. But anyways. The thumbnail tells it all. And it reminds me of some Bob Dylan lyrics that I have always loved, from the classic The Times They Are A-Changin'.
Don't criticize what you can't understand, your sons and your daughters are beyond your command. Your old road is rapidly aging. Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand, for the times they are a-changin'.
The 19th century man doesn’t understand the suffragette movement. The 1950s white man doesn’t understand the Civil Rights movement. Even many prominent modern radical feminists, having benefited from previous movements towards equality, reject trans rights.
It’s likely that this will continue for a while yet, and our grandchildren will be just as ashamed of our prejudices as we are of the prejudices of our ancestors (Genius).
Just cause you didn't see something yourself, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Just because you didn't hear something, doesn't mean it wasn't actually said. Just because you weren't effected by something, doesn't mean others weren't.
Just a gentle reminder via blog post because the video got my attention.
I am guilty of it, too. But it's just something to be more conscious of. Things are happening with and without you! Keep up.
